Conversations with Refugees

Looking for individuals to tutor refugees one-on-one, online or in-person, to improve their English skills. No formal teaching experience is required—just patience, encouragement, and a willingness to connect.

Our Philosophy :

We believe language is a pathway to empowerment. By meeting refugees where they are and developing meaningful conversational English, we equip them to confidently advocate for themselves, their families, and their futures.

Our Focus:

  • Conversations and lessons are student-driven and based on individualized instruction, rather than a structured curriculum.

  • Our priority is to provide flexibility in order to address each student’s specific needs.

  • Instruction is designed to model language use, rather than focus on formal grammar instruction.

How it works :

  • A tutoring partner is matched with a student.

  • Together, they schedule sessions and choose the format (online or in person).

  • If needed, training on WhatsApp , Zoom or Google Meet is provided

  • Sample recorded lessons and observation opportunities are provided.

  • Ongoing support is available as needed.

  • Website for tutors full of resource

Help make a meaningful difference in the lives of refugee families!
