Ways to Volunteer

  • Employee Assistance

    • Assist a newly arrived immigrant with their resume and cover letter.

    • Practice interview skills, including follow-up emails or calls.

    • Provide transportation to interviews.

    • Reach out to HR departments of potential employers (hospitals, universities, insurance companies, restaurants) to develop relationships with the RWC.

    • Help search online job search sites.

  • Social Enterprise Sewing Program

    • Childcare during Friday sewing classes.

    • Help with craft fair setup for sewing products.

    • Staff the RWC table during craft fairs.

    • Teach sewing skills.

  • English Tutoring

    • One-on-One Conversations.

    • Build vocabulary and grammar for workplace or academic settings.

    • Support confidence in communication for interviews and social situations.

    • Learn English through interactive exercises and real-world scenarios.

  • Administrative

    • Help prepare visa applications.

    ​• Assist with DSS benefit applications.

  • Other

    • Driving clients to appointments when no bus is available.

    • Helping parents enroll their children in school.
