What to Expect
Free, in-person English classes are available for refugees and immigrants living in the Hartford, Connecticut area. Designed to support learners at all stages of language development, our program offers multiple levels—from introductory English for beginners to advanced classes that build fluency and confidence in speaking, reading, and writing.
Our ESL classes are tailored to the diverse needs of refugee communities, using a variety of culturally responsive and student-centered teaching approaches. Lessons incorporate real-life language use, conversation practice, listening exercises, and literacy development. Classes are taught by experienced instructors and supported by trained volunteers, ensuring small group interaction and personalized attention. Child care is provided.
